The Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Screening service provides men aged sixty-five and above with diagnostic ultrasound examinations to rule out the presence of an AAA across England and Wales.
The Essex programme based at Southend University Hospital, has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, team-oriented individual to join as administrator for the service. This role would suit both School/College leavers to more experienced individuals.

- Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Have excellent communications skills.
- Have good IT skills.

Main duties of the job
The primary purpose of this role is to have responsibility for the administration and be the first point of contact between the screening population and the screening office. The work involves administering and processing patient invitations and appointments, recording information and updating manual and computerised data systems relating to results and patient outcome, and ordering supplies. The post plays a supporting role to the AAA screening programme and ensures that members of the public are informed of the benefits of the programme undertake abdominal ultrasound scanning as part of the community AAA screening programme.
MAIN DUTIES
1. To work on a range of administrative tasks supporting the screening service using own initiative within standard operating procedures.
2. Ensuring that members of the public attending clinics are informed and aware of the implications of AAA screening.
