Lead Midwife for Avoiding Term Admissions into Neonatal Unit (ATAIN) programme will ensure that the Trust Standard operating Procedure is followed.
Main duties of the job
Ensure effective communication with multi professional / multi agency teams. Promote and maintain effective working relationships with maternity services providers across the MSE.
Raise and escalate concerns appropriately regarding quality and patient safety. .
Chair a weekly meeting to review all term admissions to neonatal unit, ensuring quorate attendance by Midwifery, Obstetrics and Neonates in accordance with the Trust's Standard operating Procedure. The Teams ATAIN data collection & review tool must be prepared and available throughout the meeting to guide the reviews and decision making processes.
Ensure that all emergent themes and learning will be discussed with an agreed process of dissemination and the initiation of effective quality improvement projects to reduce the number of admissions to NICU.

Essential
- minimum 3 years post qualification midwifery experience
- Aware of Risk Management as an integral component of CNST
- Current practicing midwife with no restrictions

- computer literate, knowledge of excel, datix system and articulate

Evidence of knowledge surrounding the ATAIN role
