Are you an experienced dermatology nurse looking to work in a fast moving, evolving dermatology department? Are you ready to step into a leadership role?
An opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic dermatology team. The post holder will take responsibility for providing and maintaining a high standard of care to patients attending the dermatology department for Phototherapy treatment. Our service covers Basildon, Broomfield and Southend hospitals with outreach clinics currently at Canvey Island, North Road, and Leigh on sea, and although this role is based at Southend Hospital, some cross site cover may be required on occasion.
A recognised qualification in Phototherapy and a minimum 3 years experience is essential for this role.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will:
Take main responsibility (with support from senior staff) for the Dermatology Day unit at Southend Hospital, including audits, radiation safety and protection, service development, staff training and patient treatments.Ensure effective communication with patients, relatives and carers.Ensure due regard is given to customs, values and spiritual beliefs of all users of the service.Work with all members of the Dermatology team and other member of the multi disciplinary team to ensure that best practice is provided and maintained.Liaise with appropriate departments to ensure that adequate levels of supplies are maintained.Liaise with all users of the service to facilitate a seamless approach to patient care.Work with clerical staff to ensure efficient effective management of clinics.You will also deal with enquiries, concerns and complaints from patients and visitors in a courteous timely and relevant manner, informing a senior member of staff when appropriate of actions taken or, when necessary, referring an enquiry to a more appropriate member of staff.
