Job summary
We are looking for a Lead Specialist Pharmacist to join our Technical Services team and support the Operational Lead, Associate Head and Head of Technical Services in the provision of a safe and effective pharmaceutical preparation service ensuring as set out by the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency.
You will support with the day-to-day provision of specialist pharmacy technical services to all contracted Trusts to fulfil the requirements of the Medicines Act, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), Rules and Guidance for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Distributors (Orange Guide) and other National and International guidelines as may be applicable.

Main duties of the job
Liaises with other Pharmacy and Clinical staff regarding the provision of suitable formulations of medicines, and environments for the preparation and administration of medicines.
Liaises with patients and staff as necessary in the case of complaints regarding pharmaceutical products or services, or in the event of product defect or recall.
Support when required in the daily capacity planning of the Technical Services units.
Support and complete non-conformance reports and assist with root cause analysis and CAPAS for all technical services units.
Support the Associate Head and the Head of Technical services to ensure full compliance with the terms of any 'Specials' Manufacturing Licences held and taking whatever action is necessary either to comply with MHRA reports or to ensure the renewal of such licences
Support in the implemtation of aseptic based clinical trials, and lead on inhouse training.
Supports the Operational Lead and Associate Head of Technical Services in the provision of Section 10 exempt and MS products including:
- Aseptic services, such as CIVAS and PCAs.
- Prepacking and over labelled medicines, including supply of emergency drug packs.
- Cytotoxic reconstitution services.
- Radiopharmaceutical service.
