Here is an exciting opportunity for you to join the MSE Interventional Radiology Nurse team.
You will use your existing skills to care for patients undergoing a variety of interventional procedures whilst being trained to scrub, circulate, and act as the patient nurse in our Interventional Radiology Suite.
In addition to this, you will also be expected to rotate into the day case recovery unit and care for our patients pre and post procedure. Working in an ever-changing environment will require you to use your excellent communication, time management and problem-solving skills to the full.
We work together, and in conjunction with MSE Health and Care Partnership, to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and wellbeing of our patients in a dignified and compassionate manner.

Main duties of the job
Undertake all necessary training and competency assessment to be able to scrub for all interventional radiology procedures as well as undertaking the role of the circulator and patient nurse in the IR theatre.
Act as the recovery nurse, admitting patients pre-procedure and managing them in the day case recovery room post procedure and until their safe discharge.
To be competent in the administration of medication used in Interventional Radiology and to undertake relevant drug administration training to comply with national and MSE Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust guidelines.
Maintain and protect the safety and confidentiality of patients and families.
Once fully trained to actively support the Senior Sister in the delivery of high quality safe patient care, ensuring our patients have an excellent experience from pre-assessment to discharge of our service.
To work flexibly in accordance with the changing needs of the service to include out of hours working and on call
Once fully trained undertaking additional managerial/supervisory responsibilities for the department such as Audits and appraisals for junior staff, to assume some managerial responsibility for the Radiology departmentin in the absence of the Senior Sister.
