Main duties of the job
Your role will be to ensure that all areas of practice adhere to all current NMC guidance whilst agreeing with the Matron and Head of Nursing on the standard of nursing care which will be delivered and ensure that these are maintained at optimum levels, always acting as the advocate for patients, relatives and staff by protecting their rights, privacy and dignity.
You will direct, supervise and monitor the provision of nursing care in accordance with individual care plans, maintaining high standards of patient care. Assisting with budgetary control at ward level, participate in the management of the hospital in accordance with the Trust's Duty Coordinator Policy and plan and implement ward-based teaching programmes assessing the training needs of ward staff. Ensure efficient and effective duty rostering,
You should demonstrate professional leadership and management In line with the Trust policies and procedures, competently manage Human resources issues within the area evaluate care and undertake relevant research activities and audits within the clinical area whilst being able to draw on the data provided and action plan quality improvements.
