Job summary
We are looking for a Heart Failure Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team to cover maternity up to 1 year.
This role will involve working within the Cardiology Clinical Nurse team covering management of Arrhythmias; Acute Cardiology; Myocardial Perfusion Scanning and with a special interest (SI) in Heart Failure.
The Cardiology Clinical Nurse team currently comprises of 2 x Band 7 Nurses with SI in Arrhythmias; 1x Band 6 nurse in SI ,3 x Band 7 Nurse with SI in Heart Failure and .
The role will involve being the team's expert in the management of Heart Failure alongside our existing Heart Failure Specialist Nurses but may also be required to work within all the other services that we cover as detailed below.
The Cardiology Clinical Nurse Specialists are developing their services to offer support and guidance for patients attending the Emergency Department; Acute Medical Units and for those patients admitted to a non-cardiology ward.

Main duties of the job
- Independent nurse led clinics, outpatient and inpatient ward reviews
- Providing information and support to patients and their relatives
- Working in partnership with all members of the cardiology team
- Liaise with the community heart failure team
