Job summary
We are seeking Band 7 Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologists , specialised in CRM to join our professional and friendly EP & Devices team.
You must demonstrate highly specialist knowledge and skills in complex device management and have the necessary knowledge and experience to be able to oversee the day to day delivery of safe and excellent services. We encourage, support and develop our Band 7s to actively participate in all aspects of staff management , to take the lead in service improvement projects, and to support our Training officer in teaching and assessment of trainees. Experience in supporting Electrophysiology studies is desirable but not essential.
You will be working from our base in the modern purpose built Essex Cardiothoracic Centre (CTC), which provides services across the Basildon Hospital site incorporating both tertiary and secondary care activity. This unique service model provides excellent opportunities for you to extend your versatility into other areas of interest or to develop advanced knowledge and skills in your current high specialty.
Our highly experienced Heads of Department will support you in achieving professional goals and ensure skills are regularly updated as services develop. With a dedicated Training Offer we have good access to training funds and an excellent record of supporting staff to achieve professional goals.
Main duties of the job
In your role, you will need to demonstrate highly specialist skills, underpinned by up to date relevant knowledge and practical experience, in advanced techniques, produce accurate and timely reports and take action where dictated by results and be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of minimum clinical standards within the specialist area, taking action to address and ensuring that any issues are reported to the relevant Head of Department.
Essential skills
- Ability to undertake Pacemaker, ICD and CRT Follow-up
- Ability to support Pacemaker ICD and CRT Implants
- Experience, familiarity, and ability to use remote Pacemaker and ICD follow-up systems is essential to this role.
- Demonstrate capability in advanced programming and optimisation of CRT devices
- Valid ILS certificate
Desirable Skills
- Experience is supporting CIED extraction would be ideal but not essential
- Experience of conduction system pacing implants and programming
- Experience in Electrophysiology lab procedures.
- Previous experience in using the CVIS/TOMCAT cardiac database would be advantageous
- Accreditation BHRS, EHRA or IBHRE
Within scope of practice, you will provide cross cover to other areas of the Cardiac Physiology service, as the needs of the service dictate.
