Job summary

Here is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly Front door and Frailty therapy team, as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist.

You will work as part of a proactive and enthusiastic integrated team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy assistants working in the Front door emergency, ambulatory and acute ward areas. You will provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and management , using evidence-based patient centered care, working with other members of the MDT. Promoting independence and planning for safe and timely discharge are key parts of this role.

You will provide leadership, training and supervision to less experienced staff, students, and non-qualified staff.

The working pattern for this role will include rostered weekends as part of 7 day working, with off duty days in the week

Main duties of the job

You will provide and develop a high standard of Occupational Therapy services in the Front door and Frailty specialties, using standard and non-standard Occupational Therapy assessments, and evidence-based principles.

You will be required to work closely and in an integrated manner with other members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to promote independence and to facilitate safe, timely and appropriate discharge

You will contribute to the overall service development of the team and therapy service, working with senior team members, professional leads, Head of Therapies. In addition, you will manage and supervise the development of staff members within the team.

  • Post-qualifying experience working in different specialties as a junior/senior OT
