Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Midwife to be based at our St Peter's Community center.
As the Band 7 Senior Midwife you will be responsible for ensuring that babies are delivered with high quality care. It will be your duty to ensure that the appropriate systems and processes are in place .
This role would suit someone who has natural leadership abilities who is also keen to remain working clinically.
Main duties of the job
A visible and approachable leader and effective role model, providing essential managerial and clinical support in complex and sensitive situations.
Ensure that there is adequate and safe cover throughout the unit.
Assist in implementing appropriate actions when resources are inadequate.
Liaise with all agencies and disciplines to ensure continuity of care.
Lead by example, demonstrating a proven record of sound leadership, management skills, courtesy and diplomacy, when dealing with colleagues and the general public.
This role requires a commitment to work clinically doing clinics and also ensure the home birth service is covered, partially by doing on call on calls.
