Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our team as a Cancer Patient Navigator in our Chemotherapy Unit at Broomfield Hospital.

You will support the SACT (systemic anti-cancer treatment) Teams to facilitate the smooth running of the patient journey, by ensuring that the pathways are coordinated, streamlined and all processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs.

The role of the cancer patient SACT navigator is to provide specialist knowledge for the pathway of cancer patients across Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. The role will facilitate the smooth running of the patient journey by ensuring that the pathway is coordinated, streamlined and all processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs.

Main duties of the job

If successful you will work directly and indirectly with patients and their carers, and be responsible for capturing information about patients, ensuring up-to-date relevant information is recorded on the patient record and Trust systems.

You will have a good knowledge and understanding of patient complete pathways. As a key requirement of this role, the post holder will have excellent communication and organisational skills, together with a high attention to detail and levels of accuracy.

The role will support and work within the chemotherapy nurse teams to support whilst directly reporting to the Oncology Service Manager in order to transform the current processes.

The role will have a primary base within the Chemotherapy Unit at Broomfield Hospital.

  • Previous administrative experience within a healthcare setting
