Job summary

As the MSE Service Manager, you will be responsible for the operational delivery of three acute site Endoscopy units and one modular unit within the Basildon locality. Alongside the management team, you will be responsible for managing and developing services delivered across these sites. You will be operationally responsible for the day to day running of the service, and will be required to monitor national performance targets specific to ensure they are achieved, and ensure corrective action is taken when necessary. Monitor medical staffing daily and escalate where necessary.

You will work closely with clinical colleagues and colleagues in medical and surgical specialties, to ensure that cancer, RTT and diagnostic pathways are optimised for patients requiring diagnostic and therapeutic access to endoscopy services.

Main duties of the job

Management of implementation and delivery teams and accountability of endoscopy booking teams.

Continue to improve waiting times and establish effective monitoring systems, taking corrective action in conjunction with clinical staff.Assist in reviewing demand and capacity planning on a regular basis, ensuring compliance with local and national targets and continuous improvement.In conjunction with Clinical Lead ensure that medical staff rotas are adequate and take corrective action when required. Ensure that rotas are planned in advance and take into consideration current vacancy/recruitment status.Actively engage in and lead 'Communication Cells' and use them as a catalyst to promote a culture of continuous quality improvement.Develop and support the deployment of standard operating procedures to reinforce the agreed standard ways of working.
