An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of a full time Junior Charge Nurse/Charge Nurse within Mayflower Ward at Broomfield Hospital.
St Andrew's Regional centre for Burns and Plastic Surgery is a world renound service, promoting an excellent standard of care and professionalism within this speciality.
The duties involved include triaging of patients, deputising for band seven's in their abscence, co-ordinating and being in charge of shift and staff, mentoring junior colleagues and students and clinical duties in the ward.
Main duties of the job
Managing the daily flow of patients through the ward.
Managing the elective patients daily.
Being in charge of a clinical shift.
Staff appraisals.Staff sickness management.
Deputising for Ward Manager in their abscence.
Assisting with off-duty.

You should know the multidisciplinary team and have an up to date knowledge of the Trust protocols and procedures. You should know where to obtain support in the event of of an incident or event.
You have the overall responsibility for your team and the individualised care for the patients on the ward on a day to day basis.
The wellbeing of your team is important and you need to be approachable and supportive to each member of your team.
