Job summary
Mid and South Essex NHS Trust's Paediatric Department are are looking for Junior Clinical Fellows to join our Paediatrics teams on a permanent full time basis.
Your duties will be arranged with the Consultant to whom you are responsible, who has final medical responsibility for allpatients under his/her care.
You will work along-side doctors in training (Foundation year 2/ GPVTS/ Paediatric ST1 & ST2) and be offered an educational programme with one-to-one support from educational supervisor. Successful applicants will be given the support required to undertake the MRCPCH exams. These posts are also suitable for trainees considering FY3 year in paediatrics. Also suitable for doctors who had taken gap year from training & want to explore paediatrics.
There are several jobs available with roles based at Southend, Basildon and Broomfield.

Main duties of the job
Managing patients in children's ward, Paediatric assessment unit and Paediatric ED. This includes participation in resuscitation scenarios.
Working in neonatal unit which will include Level 2 neonatal intensive care unit, labour ward and post-natal ward. This involves resuscitating and stabilising premature neonates with senior support, besides managing common neonatal conditions. Post-holders will be given thorough induction on working in labour ward, also will be enrolled to do Paediatric Intermediate Life support course.
Managing patients in outpatients' area under the supervision of a Consultant.
Involvement in an active and well-established teaching programme within the paediatric department, which includes bedside teaching for junior colleagues, medical students and nurses. The post-holder will be expected to do presentations at departmental meetings and participate in simulation exercises. There are also adequate opportunities to complete supervised learning events (SLE).
Opportunities to get involved with managing safeguarding cases under the supervision of consultant.
Participation and presentation at internal audit meetings.
Work in partnership with Middle grades, Consultants, Nurses, Community Nursing Team and all members of the MDT to ensure the children, young people and their families receive the very highest quality of care.
Ensure communication is robust, maintaining duty of candour where appropriate
