An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated and flexible Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Rheumatology team.This role involves working within the specialist team to deliver high-quality outpatient care, including independent clinics, patient assessments (DAS, HAQ, PSarc), drug monitoring, and expert support.
You will manage your own caseload, ensuring timely reviews, prescription management, and coordination of Healthcare at Home prescriptions. Additionally, the role includes active participation in audits, research, and education, contributing to the training of nursing, medical, and allied health students while advancing best practices through the development of new guidelines and protocols.

Main duties of the job
The main duties of the job include:
- providing high-quality, patient-centered care by ensuring effective communication, supporting informed decision-making, and maintaining strong relationships with multidisciplinary teams.
- managing patient referrals, leading nurse-led clinics, assessing disease activity, and interpreting diagnostic tests to ensure patient safety and prevent complications.
- providing expert advice, education, and emotional support to patients and carers is also a key responsibility.
- collaborating with senior nursing staff to develop and implement innovative care strategies, improve patient outcomes, and contribute to policy and service development.
- Ensuring adherence to Trust policies, infection control standards, and handling complaints are also essential aspects of the job.
