Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a well-motivated, enthusiastic Band 6 Audiologist to join us in the Paediatric Audiology Team at the Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

The post is to cover maternity leave for a minimum of 10 months working 27.5 hours per week.

We are a super friendly team that will support you in our busy but fun working environment.

We are a small, forward-thinking team, striving to continually improve hearing services for children in the Mid Essex area. We offer a comprehensive range of diagnostics and hearing aid rehabilitation for children from birth to 18 years. We work closely with our newborn hearing screening colleagues and ENT teams.

The post is suitable for a qualified audiologist, that specialises in paediatrics. The successful candidate will join a hardworking and committed team.

Previous experience in paediatric audiology is essential.

Experience in working in NHS departments is essential.

Main duties of the job

You will be expected to provide specialist diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology within the paediatric Audiology service for children from birth to 18 years old.

You will be expected to undertake routine and more complex diagnostic assessments on children from birth to 18 years. They will be confident in fitting, maintaining and verifying NHS hearing aids. They will be expected to support as required with assessments of complex children and young adults.

The post is to cover Maternity Leave and will be for a minimum of 10 months.The position is for 27.5 hours per week.

  • BSc Audiology or equivalent
  • State Registration with AHCS or HCPC

Desirable

  • Membership of a professional group such as BAA or BSA

Knowledge and Experience

  • Full competency, including theoretical and practical training in full range of hearing aid techniques.
  • Full competency in neonatal diagnostic ABR and OAE testing.
