Job summary

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Service Lead for our Systems team within the Procurement department here at MSE.

You will drive the provision of a high quality, efficient and cost-effective systems function that meets the current and future technology needs of the Procurement & Contracting team. This will enable the function to support the delivery of our wider corporate objectives.

You will also support the development and execution of the Procurement & Contracting Information Systems strategy. Elements of this will be the selection and implementation of a Trust wide inventory management system. This will provide a key element to not only drive significant operational benefits but will underpin the acquisition, maintenance and utilisation of high quality data.

Main duties of the job

  • Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with other members of the local NHS Confederation, SCCL, NHS Improvement as well as major service providers to the Service.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels within the Service.
  • Communicate and disseminate procurement statistics, analysis and data to colleagues involved in selecting suppliers and service providers and in committing MSE expenditure. Support and promote the MSE policies at all times.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and improvements and encourage ideas and suggestions from others.
  • Provide expertise and input to the implementation of the procurement and supply chain strategies. Provide regular in-depth analytic support to ensure the annual work plans are aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Deputising for the Head of System & Governance or Head of Operations as required or requested
  • Support colleagues to use specialist analytical techniques and software to drill down and interrogate information to support and enable the achievement of measurable savings.
