Job summary
This is a fabulous secondment opportunity for a Mammographer to gain valuable experience in an advanced role within the service.
We are a Screening & Symptomatic Service based at Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, with three mobile vans covering the South Essex area. We screen around 25,000 women per year.
We run two new GE Tomosynthesis Mammography rooms and 2 Ultrasound rooms at the base site, with dedicated waiting areas, along with 3 mobile screening units operating across South Essex.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for all Quality Assurance (QA) tests and protocols within the guidelines set out in the NHSBSP QA Manual.
- To implement QA Programme/compile policies and protocols for the department and maintain this good practice within Breast Screening/Symptomatic Mammography.
- Ensure that QA tests are recorded, evaluated and monitored.
- To be responsible for sending the unit QA reports to the regional QA physicist and actioning any recommendations.
- To provide a high-quality mammographic service for the symptomatic and screening service.
