Job summary
We are looking for a member of staff with health records experience who would be interested in being seconded into a team leader role for 3 months based at Orsett hospital.
The department aims to provide an effective health records service for the Trust in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
If successful you will ensure health records are available for direct and indirect patient care within agreed timescales and deadlines. You will lead by example to ensure all health records are processed in accordance with local policies and procedures including scanning, preparing, tracking, tidying, filing and of health records.

Main duties of the job
- Act as a first point of contact for Health Records Assistants and external service users and respond to, or escalate, any issues as they arise.
- Provide advice and training for service users on health records tracking and the correct management of Health Records.
- Effectively communicate with colleagues from within Health Records and other departments.
- Take part in departmental team meetings to discuss and agree local policy and share information and ideas as required.
- Support the Health Records Site Manager to gather information to support complaint responses.
- Ensure the accurate recording of teams working hours on Health Roster.
- Approves time sheets for staff where necessary.
- Be aware of any problems in the office and report to appropriate manager or works department for remedial action.
- Be aware of health and safety and incidents procedure.
- All staff will undertake such training as is necessary to perform the duties allocated.
