A rare opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed Tissue Viability Nurse to join our small team of dedicated tissue viability nursesworking in an acute setting. You will have post graduate qualifications ideally in both Leg Ulcer Management and Wound Management.You will have at least 2 years experience working within a Tissue Viability Team.
You will have a track record of leading on Tissue Viability related projects across either Community or Acute setting and will be able todemonstrate the positive impact of these projects for patient care.The Tissue Viability Service is a small team of committed, proactive and enthusiastic tissue viability nurses. They work collaboratively with othernursing colleagues and allied health care professionals to ensure patients receive wound care of a high standard. They lead on training and education as well as being integral to the Harm Free Care Champions initiative.The Team is welcoming of new ideas and experiences which can help shape the development of the team.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Nurse Specialist Tissue Viability (CNS TV) will be part of the Harm Free Care team and is responsible for the provision of specialistnursing advice and support for the prevention and management of pressure ulcers, and for management of other complex wounds across the site.The post holder will:Be an expert practitioner with clinical expertise and experience in all aspects of wound management and will be expected to deliver a programmeof work enhancing the assessment and management for patients with complex wounds including pressure ulcers across the Hospital.Be able to work on the delivery of pressure ulcer prevention drawing on their specialist tissue viability knowledge to achieve this. The post holderwill have a vital role in facilitating, enabling and supporting the development of this service based on best practice ensuring delivery of high quality,effective and efficient skin and wound care.Champion developing and delivering high quality patient-centred care in the work towards elimination of pressure ulcers and moisture associatedskin damage. The post holder will be expected to support the delivery of education and training, and clinical audit within the service maintaining,demonstrating and assuring compliance with relevant legislation, NICE guidance and other best practice standards relevant to Tissue Viability.
