Specialist Nurse - Renal (Home Therapies)

Job summary

Our Renal team at Broomfield Hospital are seeking a Renal Specialist Nurse to provide leadership, management and nursing expertise to a team of health care professionals caring for a cohort of up to 60 home dialysis patients.

You should be trained in general nursing and have experience of managing patients with acute and chronic long term conditions and will be given full support and guidance from our dedicated Senior Nurses and Consultant Physicians.

The renal home therapies department is operational from 8am -4pm Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job

Your role is to provide a high standard of individualised care to patients, acting as a role model and supporting the Senior Charge nurse in driving quality care provision forward, be responsible for standards of cleanliness in their own clinical area in partnership with the Senior Charge Nurse and to provide clear clinical leadership to staff, deputising for the Senior Charge Nurse in her/his absence.

You will need to demonstrate specialist expertise and professional knowledge acquired through post registration academic study, clinical, leadership and management development to work and act as a role model for professional practice and leadership and enhance own role and that of team members in keeping with the NHS Plan, 2000.

You will work closely with the Senior Charge Nurse, Lead Nurse, Head of Nursing and Clinicians in embedding the principles of Clinical Governance and Standards for Better Health in order to maintain/improve and develop high standards of patient care, and thereby ensuring that the patients are treated with privacy, dignity and respect.
