Job summary

We are looking for enthusiastic people who are interested in Phlebotomy to join our busy, friendly teams across Mid and South Essex University Hospitals group, initially these roles will be in the Mid Essex region.

The roles are vital to the smooth running of the Pathology service across the region. The main duties of the roles is collection of blood samples by Venepuncture and Capillary methods from patients at various locations across the group and to assist with stock control and ordering of the supplies from Pathology stores when necessary.

A clean, methodical and tidy approach to work is important. Shifts will be offered over a 7 day working pattern.

'In-house' training will be given, so no previous experience is necessary. However, it will be advantageous to have worked in a health care environment previously, especially dealing with patients. Main duties of the job

  • Collection of blood samples by Venepuncture and Capillary methodsfrom patients on wards, those referred from out patient's clinics andGeneral Practitioners.
  • To participate in the provision of Phlebotomy services across the Trust.
  • Assist with stock control and ordering of the supplies when necessary.

  • To provide an efficient professional service, sensitive to patients needs.
