Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen on Burns ITU for a band 6 secondment for a period of 10 months for maternity cover.

The ward prides itself upon a high standard of care to all patients and has highly experienced staff in relation to care of the burn injured patient

We are a 6 bedded ward which is part of the renowned St Andrews burns Centre that achieved outstanding in its last CQC visit.

As part of our team you will be able to develop new and existing skills as a nurse while dealing with diverse patients.

Main duties of the job

Patients come from all over the country to receive high levels of specialised care provided by the multidisciplinary team based across the unit.

As a band 6 Junior Sister you will be expected to have excellent communication skills to ensure the day to day running of the ward is paramount.

You should know the multidisciplinary team and have an up to date knowledge of the Trust protocols and procedures. You should know where to obtain support in the event of of an incident or event.

You have the overall responsibility for your team and the individualised care for the patients on the ward on a day to day basis.

The wellbeing of your team is important and you need to be approachable and supportive to each member of your team.
