An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Physiotherapist to join the therapy team at Broomfield Hospital in a static position within Orthopaedics. You will be part of a friendly, highly motivated team of therapists working within an MDT delivering rehab and discharge planning for post operative orthopaedic patients at Braintree Community Hospital.

You will be responsible for assessing, treating and clinically managing patients who have undergone orthopaedic surgery, following protocols and creating treatment programmes to achieve a successful discharge.The ideal candidate will have a passion for the provision of physiotherapy in the acute setting; excellent communication skills, and a desire to grow and develop people and services around them.Within Mid and South Essex Foundation Trust we offer a robust teaching and training programme with the opportunity to complete Quality Improvement and Audit projects, we provide a supportive and engaging environment to develop and grow our therapists.If you are interested in the role and believe you hold the qualities we require, then please apply today.

Main duties of the job

1. Assesses and treats own patient caseload as an autonomous practitioner. Maintains appropriate communications and associated records working as part of the multidisciplinary team.

2. Provides high quality Physiotherapy treatment to patients in particular specialist area.

3. Demonstrates a commitment to continued development of skills and knowledge.

4. Supervises, teaches and evaluates junior staff, assistants and students.

5. May participate in departmental audit and research

Part of the Mid and South Essex clinical pathway redesign , Broomfield Hospital is an innovative, dynamic environment. Our integrated Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Therapy Assistant service has a high profile within the Trust.

You will have experience of working in an acute hospital and facilitating complex discharges using excellent assessment and problem solving skills. Supervision of junior staff, assistants and Physiotherapy students is also part of this role. Therapy Services is a friendly and supportive department with a strong focus on professional and personal development, and a commitment to regular clinical supervision for all staff, as well as rotational and annual appraisal.
