Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust for a Receptionist/Administrator within the new state of the art Chemotherapy Unit at Broomfield Hospital.
We are looking for a motivated individual who has a professional and friendly manner to join our small, busy team in Oncology.
You will be required to deliver a high level of administrative support, able to work autonomously and part of our team and have the ability to work under pressure.
Good communication and organisational skills, along with a flexible approach to duties is essential.
You will work closely with the SACT Navigator and Chemotherapy Coordinator to ensure administrative provision is effective in supporting service needs.
Main duties of the job
To work as a member of the Chemotherapy Unit team, performing specialised reception duties. The applicant will be the frontline in meeting and welcoming patients, visitors and staff to the department therefore you must be confident in dealing with people at all levels.

Front of house staff, meeting, greeting and welcoming patients, visitors and staff to the unit, therefore you must be confident in dealing with people at all levels
To work in the reception area, ensuring patients requests are dealt with in an efficient manner, minimising patient waiting times
To record patient information using the Trusts Patient Administration and Chemotherapy systems
To deal with telephone or face to face enquiries from wards, consultants, patients, etc. in a polite and courteous manner, bringing urgent matters to the attention of the Chemotherapy Co-ordinator/Nurse in Charge/Unit Manager
To book appointments face to face, by letter or via the telephone for Broomfield Hospital
To undertake any general administrative duties as necessary and be willing to work in a flexible manner as and when required
To comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act
To maintain a responsible attitude to patients and staff
