Here is an exciting opportunity to join our radiology team as a Deputy General Manager - Radiology.
You will have responsibility for the non-medical Imaging Service, providing leadership and operational management of the service. You will be accountable for the effective management of all non-medical resources needed to deliver a comprehensive imaging service, including the ultimate line management of approximately 170 staff, achieving performance targets and, in conjunction with the Clinical Leads consultants and seniors team, developing the department strategy.

Main duties of the job
- The Deputy General Manager, with the Clinical Leads, is responsible for continually improving the quality of services to patients and redesigning services to meet best practice standards, improving efficiency and effectiveness within available resources
- Maintain knowledge of the latest developments and techniques within their area of expertise, with a view to introducing them into the service, where appropriate.
- The Deputy General Manager is responsible with the Clinical Leads for the effective strategic and operational management of the service within the locality, ensuring the delivery of high quality patient services within the resources available.
- The Deputy General Manager will provide leadership and direction to the service, taking the lead with the Clinical Leads for implementing the strategy for the service in line with the Trust's overall strategy and transformation programme. This will include playing a key role in identifying opportunities for clinical innovation and modernisation, the delivery of all operational performance targets, waiting list and financial management, capacity utilisation and management.
- Jointly lead the development of the strategic direction for the service with the Clinical Leads in line with the Trust's overall strategy and transformation programme, ensuring that all strategic plans are incorporated into service plans and objectives for all staff.

Broomfield University Hospital site is a busy district general hospital. It is a regional upper GI, head & neck and plastics unit as well as a supra-regional burns unit. It is anticipated that as part of the acute services reconfiguration, Broomfield will also be the regional centre for GI and benign urological surgery. There are 21 Consultants providing General and sub-specialty radiology services working a variety of full-time and part-time contracts.
The service has recently installed two brand new state of the art 1.5T Phillips MRI scanners in a purpose built building; there are two Toshiba 128 slice CT scanners with ambitions to install a third system in the future. In total the service has eight digital plain film rooms, at the main site there are two reporting rooms equipped with Carls tables, there is a rolling equipment replacement programme in place that includes plans to replace the CT scanners, Nuclear medicine and Mammography equipment in the near future.
