Stock Controler for Cardiology Cath Lab

Job summary

The EP and Device Services within Cardiology delivers high levels of activity whilst using a range of complexed and expensive consumable items. This position will have a pivotal role within the cath labs with the main focus to oversee the management of all stock levels, continually assessing, ordering, and organising stock in a way that ensures all stock is readily available.

Main duties of the job

Provide stock control, including stock rotation, re-ordering and replenishment service for an agreed range of consumables used by customers and to support end users in accordance with HPL and Trust policies. Ensure safe disposal and/or relocation of surplus, redundant and obsolete stock.

Participate and assist in stock takes, year-end counts and amendments as required.

Ensure that orders are expedited, chased and delivered on time.

Ensure personal training and development is up to date at all times.

Assist the Receipt and Distribution team as required.

Participate in implementation of new projects.

Job description

Job responsibilities

To take the lead for all aspects of inventory stock management including controlling,

storing, and keeping track of all inventory items for the radiology department.

Engage with stakeholders within the clinical, procurement and suppliers to ensure stock is always available when needed.

To understand the departmental budget with respects to non-pay items and to work with the departments budgetary constraints, identifying the needs of the cardiology

department and work within the guidelines of the Trusts financial constraints.

To identify and report on all areas where savings and service improvements can be

made.

To maintain a good understanding of stock supply and the critical areas to consider

when determining the appropriate supply route, analysing financial and purchasing

options for requisitions received.

Ensure that the best value for money is obtained. This may involve research of new

products, and meeting with supplier representatives as and when necessary.

To perform routine stock checks for all EP and Device procedures and replenish all areas in the departments with delivered goods, this involves moving roll cages and placing stock

onto departmental stockroom shelves, ensuring that stock is rotated and maintained in a

tidy manner.

Receive and check stock lists for accuracy and action discrepancies or returns along

with receipting all deliveries, filing, and forwarding the necessary paperwork.

To ensure good stock rotation to alleviate any unnecessary wastage of expired items

and to identify any surplus stock and arrange for its disposal, when necessary, arrange

for appropriate cross charging of internal budget.

Organise and manage an agreed workload with support from other health care

professionals and senior staff as appropriate in line with clinical priorities.

Contribute to service developments ensuring that evidence-based practice is at the

forefront of any changes by liaising with the clinical teams to identify new projects that

should be added to the departments stock portfolio.
