Job summary
The Acute Medical Unit is a fast pace assessment Unit with 52 bedded spaces alongside a Same Day Emergency Care Clinic running a 7-day service. Registered Nurses are expected to work in a safe, effective and organized manner, always striving to achieve a high standard of care. Being part of the Emergency Village, you would be expected to work in a way that promotes and supports flow between departments.
With a workforce on AMU of around 100 members of staff, five current senior sisters and a clinical educator based here, you will be well supported and integrated into a fantastic team of nurses and health care assistants who strive to provide excellent patient care.
Main duties of the job
Undertaking admission process
Medicines Management
Discharge Planning
Caring for acutely unwell patients
Providing urgent / emergency care or investigations
Working in conjunction with the Nurse in Charge to maintain flow
Working closely with the different Multi Disciplinary Teams
Work in our Same Day Emergency care clinic
