Job summary

We are currently looking for experienced Band 5 Nurses to come and join our team as a Band 6 Junior Charge Nurse on our 'ring fenced' Orthopaedic Ward at Broomfield.

John Ray ward is part of the the elective orthopaedic service for Mid and South Essex, undertaking hip and knee replacements as well as a wide range of shoulder, hand, foot and day case surgery. The ward also provides high quality care and rehabilitation for patients recovering from orthopaedic surgery for a variety of conditions.

Our ward prides itself in providing a high standard of patient care, experience, and quality service. Our team is friendly, supportive, vibrant and dynamic; everyone is encouraged to participate as a member of the team in developing their nursing skills. We offer a structured band 6 competency programme and support to complete mandatory training. We also apply for post graduate courses as they become available.

Main duties of the job

We hope to attract a wide range of experience for the post; we welcome applicants that have experience in different areas who would like to join our team therefore previous orthopaedic experience is preferred but not essential. All applicants do need to have motivation, flexibility, enthusiasm be hardworking and a willingness to learn quickly.

Outstanding patient care skills are essential to support the patient, and a determination to continuously improve and develop services. We welcome people with innovative ideas and the ability to help make them happen.
