Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust are seeking a Medical Education Coordinator to join our busy medical education team. You will be responbile for providing high quality and comprehensive administrative support for the foundation training programme based at Southend Hospital.

You will work closely with doctors in training, the Foundation Training Programme Director, regional colleagues both at Trusts and Health Education England and Trust consultants to ensure that high quality training and educational needs are met.

This is a varied and interesting role, with high levels of responsibility. You must be able to use initiative to work without direct supervision display excellent communication skills, and have the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Main duties of the job

Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Main point of contact for the Foundation Training Programme, the FTP Director and trainees including receiving and dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Arrange meetings and development and circulation of materials such as agenda, programmes, minutes and action trackers to an excellent standard.
  • To work with consultant leads to identify and implement suitable educational timetables, rotations and training events.
  • Undertake general administrative duties including managing complex databases, spreadsheets and other documents.
  • Organise and arrange meetings, live stream events and regular educational events on behalf of the medical education department.
  • To update and support self-registration for both trainees and educators on the virtual learning platform (Bridge/Panopto/Horus).
  • Collate and prepare information, documentation and correspondence for a range of medical audiences.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating comprehensive database of all doctors employed.
  • Administration support for the MSE Senior Medical Education Manager including note taking and project work.
