Job summary

The Burns, Plastics and Dermatology Division at Mid & South Essex Hospitals Foundation is seeking an experienced and dynamic operational manager to join our senior leadership team as the Deputy General Manager for Dermatology.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the operational and financial delivery of the clinical services within the service and will work closely with the Deputy Director of Operations, Medical Director, Clinical Lead and nursing leads.

You will have direct management responsibility for the dermatology services across Mid and South Essex by driving the strategic agenda within the Dermatology service as well as supporting teams to resolve day-to-day management issues, ensuring they are of a consistently high quality and deliver excellent patient experience.

You will have excellent communication and leadership skills, strong financial and workforce management experience and a commitment to quality and performance improvement. This role is crucial in supporting the delivery of key objectives within MSE including cost pressures, service developments, improvement programmes and commissioning.

The Dermatology provides the full range of modern dermatological services to a population of approximately 1.2 million. We typically see 15000 new patients and 21000 follow up cases per year. In addition there were over 12000 attendances for phototherapy last year and 400 patients underwent patch testing. The service operates across a number of sites including the 3 hospitals Basildon, Broomfield and Southend.
