Job summary
Join us for Basildon Hospital's CTC/Critcal Care open day.
Are you a student nurse, a current nurse, or someone looking to return to nursing? If so, we invite you to attend our open on Thursday 18th April 2024.
What to Expect:
- Guided Tours: Experience a glimpse of our services at CTC and Critical Care. Meet our dedicated staff members who will provide insights into the work we do here at Mid and South Essex.
- Exploring Opportunities: Learn about the Band 5 Nursing vacancies and the departments in which are hiring in CTC and Critical Care.
- On-the-Day Interviews: You will be asked to complete a drug calculation test. Should you pass this test you will then be interviewed on the day.

Main duties of the job
Your role will involve assisting with the provision of an environment conducive to the education of all staff, supervising other members of the nursing team as appropriate and participate in the induction of new staff.
As your personal competencies are achieved, assist in the monitoring of all junior staff, (including HCA's, departmental assistants and clerical staff), as appropriate, ensuring that all staff work to and achieve an acceptable safe standard and quality of care.
You will need to demonstrate a willingness to be flexible, to ensure the nursing procedures are implemented and maintained in accordance with the policies of the department and the Trust and maintain knowledge of current trends in healthcare and in the profession, participating as required in patient dependency studies and quality assurance programmes. To assist with nursing research projects as required.
Full and ongoing training will be given, and you will be nurtured and supported throughout your career with frequent opportunities to progress, expand and consolidate your knowledge with a view to advancing your career path.
