Job summary

We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills who is dedicated to working as part of the IEN team.

This role is to promote the education & training of nurses being recruited for Mid & South Essex NHS Trust who need to pass their NMC OSCE before being fully registered as a nurse on the NMC Register. To provide Training opportunities & support for the nurses across the three sites to develop/enhance clinical skills.

To collaborate with senior ward staff and Professional Practice Leads, to implement ward based programmes of education.

As we are recruiting into a secondment position, all internal candidates must have authorisation from their managers to accept a 6 month secondment prior to applying for the role, if they wish to be considered for the post.

You will participate in the coordination and recruitment of overseas nurses ensuring a robust induction and training program to obtain NMC registration.

Main duties of the job

We are an established team who support our international nurses from arrival into the UK until they have passed their OSCE exam and have joined the NMC Register.

You should have clinical knowledge as well as an ability to train, motivate & support a team of nurses through their journey onto the NMC Register. In addition, you should have an interest in developing your leadership & teaching style.

The role is to support nurses across the three sites and working with colleagues from each trust to deliver strong OSCE Training and meaningful pastoral support. You will need to be able to travel to Chelmsford where our current base is for centralised training but also able to cover other sites when the need arises.

It is essential that you have knowledge on the adult nursing OSCE to ensure you are able to support international nurses.
