We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic person to join the Dermatology team as a Patient Pathway Officer.We are a busy, friendly, supportive team based in our own purpose built Dermatology
We are looking for excellent communicators, who are able to demonstrate and promote high levels of customer care.
Experience in using the following hospital administration systems is preferred but training can be given -
Main duties of the job
To deliver an efficient and effective appointment scheduling and outcome service to the Dermatology team, keeping up-to-date and accurate computer recorded information on the status of patients.
Support the Dermatology coordinators, clinical team, and other divisional managers in ensuring the specialty are able to deliver safe and effective services whilst also ensuring compliance with contractual access targets e.g. 6 week diagnostic wait time.
Post will be based at Basildon Hospital as a base site with some cross-site working at satellite site.

- Interpreting the clinical information from test requests according to protocol and taking responsibility for booking appropriate appointments. Communicate rejection of inappropriate requests to requesting Consultants according to published guidance.
- Monitor demand and wait times, identify potential breaches and escalate to Dermatology coordinators.
- Action appointments, entering details onto EPR as required, using initiative to ensure appointments meet diagnostic targets.
