Job summary

An exciting Receptionist opportunity has arisen within the Womens clinic Outpatient department at Southend Hospital.

As a receptionist it will be your responsibility to provide an effective administrive service which will include both reception & office work. We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills who is dedicated to working as part of our friendly team.

Compassionate in nature, the successful applicant will be required to have a flexible attitude to work and provide cross cover during periods of absence.

Main duties of the job

  • Ensuring availability of case notes with all necessary documentation available for medical staff
  • Preparation of case notes with requisite forms and paperwork in correct order.
  • Reception of patients/carers as they arrive in the department, giving appropriate information on clinic running/routine
  • Preparation of case notes for nursing staff to undertake nurse assessment process
  • Ensuring all clinic patient activity is entered on the patient administration system, MEDWAY
  • Making/changing out-patient appointments
  • Cancelling/Reducing Outpatient Clinics due to annual/study and professional leave
  • Checking/applying coding stickers to case notes
  • Action text message reminders cancelling/changing outpatient appointment
