If you are a dynamic team player and are working as a band 5 with a few months experience, a band 5 ready for their first band 6 role, or a band 6 looking to gain experience and skills in renal dietetics: this position is for you.

This opportunity has been made possible as the department is fully staffed at senior level and we have the capacity to fully support the development of staff.

We are a department that supports flexible working and working at Basildon Hospital would entitle you to the additional 5% HCA fringe benefit on pay.

Main duties of the job

For those with minimum renal experience you will complete the specialist competencies which on completion will lead to promotion to band 6. We would estimate this will take 9-12 months dependent on previous experience but could be achieved earlier.

If you are already working at a band 6 level then you will automatically take up the renal post.

You will also have the opportunity to shadow other specialties such as cardiothoracics, surgical, gastroenterology, paediatrics, critical care and complex nutrition support, if desired.

We are a large proactive team of 22 dietitians and 3 dietetic assistants, that strives for continual improvement with the Trust values of respect, compassion and excellence at the heart of everything we do. There will be the opportunity for you to get involved with projects, audits and service developments. You will have to chance to participate in student training.

We offer excellent training and development opportunities. Including dedicated CPD time and access to external training courses.

We are a friendly team that hold regular social events, baking competitions and holiday quizzes. You will be made to feel welcomed, supported and valued.
