Job summary

Reporting into the MSE Director of Operations Estates/Facilities, the MSE Catering Lead will form part of the senior Estates and Facilities Management Team who will be responsible for delivering high quality and professional catering services across the group.

The post holder will be required to work with senior colleagues to develop operational service delivery strategies, policies and to implement improvement management processes with relevant SOP and policies.

The post holder will also be responsible for Transformational change management process and its implementation across MSE Catering Services thereby supporting the delivery of service enabling projects that will enhance and align services processes/delivery within the MSE Catering service.

The post holder will manage a large workforce, lead, influence and engage in delivering the operational and strategic plan of a comprehensive high quality and cost-effective catering service across the organization. To ensure all key performance indicators are achieved which includes specific elements in Trust and National Performance frameworks whilst striving for continuous improvement.

The post holder will work closely with relevant clinical stake holders to ensure quality food and good hydration remain at the fore front of ensuring a good hospital experience.

Main duties of the job

To develop MSE Catering service strategies, development work plans and service reports for escalation to senior EFM Management team and other relevant stakeholders.

Being a key stakeholder in the strategic direction of the MSE catering service, its business and financial planning, ensuring that all stakeholders recognise and consider the potential impact of proposals on any MSE Catering services and transformational work streams within the Catering scope

Working with operational services, group leads and Site managers to drive performance in all the Trust catering sites.

Responsible for patient, retail and contract management of any outsourced elements of MSE Catering services.

To maintain close liaison with divisional directors, external agencies and departmental staff at all levels changing the style of service provision where appropriate to match requirements.

Analyse, interpret, and act on complex Catering information

Be the accountable lead for MSE Catering Transformation initiatives and work with MSE Group leads and site managers across the group to enable effective change.

As the MSE Catering Services lead, you will be required to work across all the properties / sites owned or occupied by the Mid and South Essex Acute Trusts.
