Job summary

There is an exciting to join Care Group 5 as the Deputy Director of Operations for Women and Children's Services.

Working closely with the 2nd Deputy Director of Operations for Maternity, the role is responsible for the planning and delivery of services within Women's and Children services which includes Gynaecology (admitted and non-admitted pathways); Gynaecology 2 week wait pathways; Cervical Screening Programme; Acute Paediatrics and Children's Outpatient services. In addition, the postholder is responsible for the planning and management of the Medical workforce across Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Paediatrics across the MSE.

Main duties of the job

As a senior leader within the Division, you will be responsible for promoting the vision and values of the Mid and South Essex University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, leading by example, and ensuring that they demonstrate those values in their leadership behaviours and how to support their team in delivering outstanding patient care and excellent services.

The successful applicant will have extensive experience at senior management level within the NHS and a significant track record of operational achievement and service improvement.

You will be working in a matrix operating structure, with the requirement to be visible and accessible across the MSE. You will work with the Director of Operations as part of the Senior Leadership Team within Care Group 5 to deliver the comprehensive recovery and improvement plans across the service areas. You will lead on the transformation of the Gynaecology 2 week wait pathway; play a key role across many workstreams within the Paediatric Improvement Programme and continue with the transformational work already underway within the Cervical Screening service.
