Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust are seeking a Senior Healthcare Assistant Champion to provide clinical guidance and pastoral support for band 2 and 3 HCA's across the Trust.

You will promote excellent patient care through the delivery of HCA support, guidance and assessment of the care certificate.

You will contribute to the delivery of the Health & Wellbeing strategy that will support all health care assistants across the Trust.

You will act as the HCA health and well-being champion across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

Duties include:

  • Maintaining contact and familiarity with current clinical practice
  • Ensuring advice and guidance given to staff members confirms to clinical policies and protocols applying to practice
  • Acting as a role model, giving a positive image of the Trust values and act in a manner that inspires confidence and is compliant with Trust policies
  • Promoting effective and respectful communication with patients, relatives and colleagues within clinical areas
  • Demonstrating understanding of the boundaries of the HCA role and support HCA's to work within the scope of their role and responsibilities
