Job summary
We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic person to join our team on Kingswood Ward, which is the Endocrine Specialist Ward at Basildon Hospital.
Kingswood Ward is a medical ward for where we provide care for patients with complex medical and endocrine issues, and sometimes social issues working closely with the patients and their families to give high standards of care.
We work with many specialities to enable a seamless journey for the patient from admission to discharge.
You will need good leadership skills and be able to take charge of the ward in the managers absence, working closely with a experienced team delivering the best care to the patients including discharge planning, diabetes management and end of life care.
Main duties of the job
You will use your leadership, experience, excellent communication and organisational skills to taking charge of a busy acute unit therefore having knowledge and experience in care of the elderly would be preferable.
You will provide a high standard of individualised care to patients, acting as a role model and supporting the Senior Sister/Charge nurse in driving quality care provision forward
Your role is to be responsible for standards of cleanliness in their own clinical area in partnership with the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse and provide clear clinical leadership to staff, deputising for the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in her/his absence
