Job summary

We are currently looking for a an experienced Health Care Assistant to join our well established Trauma Team at Broomfield Hospital.

You will provide professional, comprehensive and efficient support to the Trauma Service for both patients, nursing and medical staff, submit essential information to national database , collect information from computer systems, booking clinic appointments and so on.

You will be required to be flexible, to priorities your given workload and complete tasks within prescribed timescales.

Main duties of the job

Visit wards to perform 4AT assessments of delirium and cognitive impairment with post operative hip fracture, femoral shaft and periprosthetic fracture patients.

Collect information from patient notes for submission to the National hip fracture database. (AMTS score, previous mobility, MUST score, nutritional assessment)

Collect information from computer systems e.g Theatreman/Bluespier (ASA scores, time of theatre induction, type of anaesthetic and operating surgeon details)

Accessing National hip fracture database and submit collected information.

Perform ward round three times a week to check for potential surgical wound infections, or concerns regarding infection from ward nurses, for patients identified by trauma coordinators

Access the SSI website and submit the collected data.

Booking fracture/orthopaedic clinic appointments on Lorenzo

Taking appointment letters to post room
