Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for 2 experienced MSK physiotherapists to join our outpatient team at Broomfield Hospital, to support the development of a triage service. The successful candidates will both triage and treat patients, using their extensive MSK physiotherapy knowledge and skills treating patients with a variety of presentations.

Main duties of the job
- Triage referrals to ensure patients are on the right patient pathway to access the most appropriate service to meet their needs
- Manage a complex caseload of patient which will include those with long-term conditions, co-morbidities and multi-factorial needs
- Communicating daily with specialists within the orthopaedic, rheumatology and pain services
-Provide expert treatment based on evidence-based practice
-Support more junior members of the team
- Undertake data collection and quality improvement projects to further the MSK service and evidence efficiency and effectiveness within the service

- Performs advanced physiotherapy assessments of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, to provide a diagnosis to develop and deliver an individual treatment program.
- Takes a major role in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the specialty, who may have complex and/or chronic presentation, and to determine clinical diagnosis and physiotherapy treatment indicated, and to maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
- Holds responsibility for own case load and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working without direct supervision. Supervision may take the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, case conferences. Access to advice and support from a senior physiotherapist is available if required, clinical work is not routinely evaluated.
- Undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
- Supervise, educate and assess the performance of physiotherapy students; this would be to a graduate standard and involve working with universities to ensure the standard of practice and teaching meets the standards set by the degree level qualification.
- Undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and teams clinical practice within each rotation. Make recommendations to clinical lead/ manager of service for changes to practice by the team. May lead the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to service protocols.
