Lead Clinical Oncology Pharmacy Technician

Main duties of the job
Southend Hospital is the designated Cancer Centre for Mid and South Essex and we provide specialist oncology pharmacy services to the busy chemotherapy day unit and oncology wards and are now looking to extend the clinical pharmacy roles to technicians in this area.
We require someone with vision and drive to actively participate in service evolution. Working in the specialist oncology service, you will have excellent prioritisation, delegation and time management skills to ensure the teams work efficiently and effectively. Patient safety is at the core of our service. You will assist the work of our Medication Safety Officer and Lead Pharmacists by ensuring our operational processes are robust, incidents are appropriately reported, investigated and that learning is shared.
You will be based in the chemotherapy day unit and provide clinical pharmacy support to the safe, timely and cost effective delivery of chemotherapy to our patients.
In addition to clinical work e.g. prescription review, oversight of the chemocare system including protocol building will be a key part of the role.
Hosted at Southend, support for chemotherapy management on the other MSE sites will be expected.
