Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our busy Estates Team as the Maintenance Manager.
The purpose of this role will be to support the Operations Engineering Team. The post holder will ensure that the Trust is served by an efficient and effective Estates maintenance service.
You will ensure a well maintained, safe and secure environment exists for patients, staff and visitors. The role includes the shared management and leadership of the estates direct labour group, external contractors and others providing engineering, building maintenance services to the Estate in the Acute Hospital setting.
You will also act as Authorised Person for various specialties ensuring that current legislation, regulations and safe systems of work are adhered to.
You should be qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline and have experience in building services systems. Health Service experience is desirable, it is not considered essential.
This position will require you to participate in the Estates emergency on-call rota which includes out of hours working.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for ensuring that all engineering and building maintenance (both in-house and external contractors) is carried out to appropriate standards and specifications.
Manage the Trust's engineering and building maintenance function including directly employed staff and engineering contractors and to ensure that the Trust is served by an efficient and effective Estates maintenance service
Act as Authorised Person with respect to Water / Ventilation systems and medical gases or other AP engineering facets as may be required
Overseeing the delivery of quality and efficient standards for all work undertaken by the Section
Ensuring the Operational Maintenance Section works collaboratively with all other Directorates and Departments within the Trust
