We are pleased to announce an exciting new opportunity to join our dedicated midwifery team at William Julien Courtlaud (WJC) Birthing Unit in Braintree

WJC is a modern and well-equipped, purpose-built building that offers antenatal care on-site, including consultant clinics, antenatal education classes, Anti - D, GTT clinics and low risk births to maternity patient's and services users in Braintree.
Broomfield Hospital have a devoted education and development function to support independent working, career development and progression of all Maternity staff.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for several compassionate experienced midwives, to join our Broomfield Community Team and birthing unit, to deliver individualised care for women and families predominantly in Braintree and the surrounding areas.
Working as a community midwife gives you the autonomy and control to manage your workload constructively and effectively with the support of a dedicated team. You will be able to practice your antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal skills allowing you to be experienced in all areas, including home births and birth on the WJC Birthing Unit.
Midwives have allocated clinic days to support achieving antenatal continuity, this enables a more predictable working rota and better job satisfaction.

- Delivering individualised care for women and families predominantly in Braintree and the surrounding areas.
- post holder may be required to work in all areas of the service which includes the obstetric theatre, maternity inpatients, DAU, Triage and high risk Delivery Suite.
- Will be working in collaboration with other multidisciplinary professionals to enhance and promote the health and wellbeing of mothers and neonates in line with local and national standards relating to maternity care and referrals.
- Midwives will be required to assess, plan and deliver complete midwifery care in various settings within our Antenatal, Intrapartum and Postnatal services. This includes our community and on call service. To enable woman to remain the focus of care and as her advocate to encourage her to participate in her care plans based on good communication and evidence based information
- Post hold should be able to assess, plan and deliver total midwifery care for a caseload of women within the community, prioritising workload and management of time.
- To be competent to work within a team to deliver care based on the needs of women to maintain continuity.
- To identify, plan and implement care in collaboration within the multidisciplinary team in relation tofamilies with complex psycho-social needs e.g. domestic violence, and child protection.
- To maintain clear and concise records on the women and babies always care, including all discussions on care and information given. Ensuring the safekeeping and storage of all confidential materials
