A fantastic importunity is available for 8 months fixed term staff nurse role in the Eye Unit day stay ward in Broomfield site. The role is to cover RN 37.5 hours/week until the end of March 2024.

Main duties of the job
You will always adhere to the NMC code of Professional Conduct and ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures. To ensure that an individual programme of care is planned, implemented, and evaluated for each patient within own sphere of responsibility. The post holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary team always ensuring the delivery of a high standard of car to the patients and act as positive role model
To act as team leader including taking charge of the ward/clinic in the absence of Deputy Ward Manager. To participate in all relevant aspects of the Governance process.

- To provide effective support for the ward manager and sister/charge nurse, ensuring self-development in the day-to-day management of the ward/clinic .
- Under the supervision of the ward / department manager to work on delegated projects relating to local policy and service development.
- Make a thorough assessment of the patients needs and document in accordance with nursing policies.
- Formulate a plan of care based on the identified needs of the patient, taking into account current evidenced based research findings.
- Ensure that all the care planned is delivered to the patient at the highest possible standard.
- Evaluate nursing actions alter the care plan in accordance with the changing needs of the patient.
- To work towards an awareness of service delivery plans.
