Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic registered nurse with clinical renal experience to manage and support renal research trials at Broomfield Hospital.
This post requires an individual who is motivated to build on their existing clinical experience and contribute to the development of evidence-based patient care. You will be a nurse who is experienced in care of the renal patient at all stages of chronic kidney disease and in renal replacement therapy.
You will be part of a wider team of research nurses, clinical research practitioners and R&D colleagues providing research opportunities and support for patients taking part in a diverse portfolio of clinical trials at Broomfield Hospital. In addition to renal research, you will work alongside experienced colleagues to manage and support research trials in a range of disciplines, as required.
Main duties of the job
As a research nurse, you will be responsible for assessing and managing the care pathways of patients and carers participating in research studies in the Trust's active research portfolio and ensuring good communication with other members of the R&D Department and Clinical Research Network (CRN).
The NIHR Clinical Research Network is the clinical research delivery arm of the NHS. They operate nationally across England through a national coordinating centre and 15 local branches delivering research in the NHS across all disease areas. They provide the infrastructure that allows high quality clinical research to take place in the NHS so that patients can benefit from new and better treatments The NIHR Clinical Research Network: North Thames is hosted by Barts Health NHS Trust.
This post is funded through the North Thames Clinical Research Network and the successful post holder would be based at Broomfield Hospital, Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder would mainly be focusing on Generic research studies, however support may be needed to cover other speciality areas too, such as Covid-19 urgent public health studies.
The Trust is a member of the CRN:North Thames Research Network and committed to the support of research in the NHS.
