Job summary

We are pleased to announce exciting new opportunities to join or dedicated BSOTS/Triage midwifery team at Broomfield Hospital.

The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day care of women within the Antenatal Triage service, ensuring that Maternity Standards are monitored and maintained. The post-holder will support the Lead Midwife for Antenatal Triage, and will demonstrate expert clinical skills, providing advice to staff and colleagues.

This midwife post will focus on the day-to-day provision for women using the triage service. The post holder will be expected to maintain clinical expertise, undertaking duties in line with the needs of the service, working day, night and weekend shifts as required to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

To manage the clinical workload within the Triage area, liaising with CDS and all other areas of the maternity unit.

To act as an expert adviser on issues relating to ante-natal fetal and maternal well-

To be responsible for the admission, assessment and subsequent care planning of women presenting to Triage area in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team

To facilitate the clinical and professional development of the staff that work in

To be fully competent with Cardiotocograph (CTG) interpretation, including Dawes- Redman CTG analysis.

Support women and their families where appropriate and liaise with Multi-disciplinary team as necessary.

To establish effective communications with midwives in caring for women attending

To develop clinical expertise and increase knowledge base for the identified client

The ability to prioritise own work load in an ever changing
