Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our team.

As a Project Manager, you will be required to lead and manage. You are expected to manage the day-to-day delivery of identified projects supporting the Director of Strategy and Innovation and then help embed it in local work plans. The project manager will also be flexible in their approach to meet some of the dynamic requirements of the team as it supports Board and executive members with important projects.

Strategy Unit provides a source of support and diagnosis to our hospitals, helps secure the best value from external consultancy, and develops robust strategic insight analysis and evaluation capability across our organisations. The team also pursues other strategic partnerships beneficial to our patients, such as in community engagement, co-production and healthcare innovation. The team enables engagement with partner organisations both locally and regionally/nationally. The Strategy Unit continues to respond to local needs for further exploration and evidence reviews for new and existing transformational work with hospital sites, and support site leadership teams. The Unit builds upon the talent we already have in-house, enabling our plan to be an organisation that is continuously improving, leading new models of care for better patient care, better value and population health benefit -One Team working together for excellent patient care.

Main duties of the job

Mid and South Essex NHS FT is a newly merged trust with the below strategic goals guiding us over the next 3 years:

The Strategy Unit is the team that supported the development of the above organisational strategic goals and is routinely involved in strategic programmes, supporting the Board and Executive like research strategy development.

The team is supporting strategic projects like improving equity of care, hospital as an anchor institution and is also supporting research and cancer strategy development for the organisation while advising clinical teams on their strategy development and implementation.

A dedicated resource is required to support various projects within Strategy unit, supporting the work of Director of Strategy and Innovation alongside the programme manager.

This role will support development and implementation of various projects alongside the programme manager and Director of Strategy and Innovation. They will also get opportunity to support bid writing and award applications helping raise profile of the work undertaken by the team.
