Job summary

Our CTC, the Essex centre providing cardiac care for patients in the Essex region, has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced RN with a cardiology or cardiac background to join it's specialist team as a TAVI Nurse to coordinate and manage all TAVI patients through the Essex CTC based at Basildon Hospital.

You will work alongside a specialist team of cardiac nurses and consultants delivering exceptional care to patients requiring transcatheter valve implantation.

Main duties of the job

Your role will be to assist with a caseload of patients undergoing TAVI, ensuring continuity and a high standard of evidence based nursing care, from point of assessment through to treatment management and discharge.

Working as an integral member of the Team,you will expand, develop and utilise clinical, educational, research and leadership skills to enhance and optimise clinical practice within the pre and post operative phase of the patient's pathway.

Your role will incorporates the pre-assessment and pre-operative preparation of patients undergoing TAVI.

You will be required to demonstrate effective communication skills within the Cardiothoracic Centre and Trust, to maintain collaborative working within the multi-disciplinary team through good communication, demonstrate the importance of obtaining, organising, and recording accurate information, by self and others, understand the Trusts complaints procedure and as appropriate manage a situation in a sympathetic and timely manner and maintain and protect the safety and confidentiality of patients and families.
